Undeniable Talent

July 14, 2010
So in my life group from church, there are so many different walks of life. We have a science genius, several football players, basketball players, a student from one of the greatest math and science academy in Arkansas! The list goes on. That in mind, this means we have several different levels of influence for different things. One of my mentoirs always says, different people reach different people.

Several times, you'd hear some one say, "man... if I had the things he had..." or "If my testimony was like that..."  The truth is this: You CAN NOT change your testimony. Please don't forge yourself to try to reach others. Regardless who you are or where you are, you have influence. But the tough thing is the way you utilize your influence. Regardless if it's a baby sibling, a co-worker, or whatever, someone is watching you. Waiting to see what you do so they can adapt to it.

What are you leaving for other people to follow? Imagine that the world has no churches and then find a way to lead others to Heaven.

God of this city, I pray that any hearing and seeing body will take the cards you give them and conquor! I pray that we stop looking at our neighbor and see the undeniable talents You've blessed us with. Make us leaders. In Your son's name. Amen.

Fruits and Hearts for Him.

May 1, 2010
So a man grows fruits. Therefore he has several trees. Year in and year out, this man plants and picks from his trees and the fruits grow beautiful and massive. The man puts a lot of time into his trees making sure that he'll have a good picking when it was time. At the same time, the man on the land next to his was doing the same thing-growing trees, that is. This man, when it was time to pick was always unsatisfied. His fruit was never worth anything. His fruit was rotted easily and no one ...

Imperfactions holding you? Let them SHINE!

April 27, 2010
So the question was this: Trey Botley, you are pretty strong in your faith. You know God and you can't stop talking about Him. So why is it that you share your flaws without fear?

This rambled in my head all day, as I was completely speechless. When I got back to school this afternoon from an all day field trip, I saw the guy who asked me the question. I looked at him and smiled, and told him this "God shines through my imperfections. He doesn't care about what I did before I found His cross."...

What are YOU shoving in God's mouth?

March 28, 2010
In your mind, paint this picture: A long sidewalk with holes in it, about 4 feet apart. in front of the sidewalk, there's a trnch running. Once you get this mind set, Carry on...

In ancient times, these "side walks" were actually public toilets. People came to sit and use these toilets, and in time, beggars came through to clean the people's waste with the sour wine and vinegar. They'd get long sticks and attach cloths at the ends and dip them in the trenches to get the vinegar and cle...

My new hiding place-You're more than welcomed to come hide too...

December 29, 2009
"My comforter, my all-in-all. Here in the Power of Christ I stand."

"But let all who take refuge in You be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread your protection over them, that those who rejoice in Your name may rejoice in You" (Psalm 5:11)

The list goes on and on where God offers us refuge and protection, those are just two of my favorites. Ever felt scared? Lonely? Like everyone is against you? I'll reveal to you MY hiding place...

In Christ alone, my hope is found.. He is my light, my stre...

Do what you feel.

December 5, 2009
A few days ago at my school we had our fall play. It was a Christmas Carol. Anyone who knows this act knows of Mr. Scrooge and his selfish and angry ways.
In the story, before Mr. Scrooge is visited by the first ghost of Christmas past, Jacob Marley, which was Mr. Scrooge's buisness partner visits him. Now, of course this is weird, because a ghost is at a man's house just visiting him... But even more into this-the ghost is wearing chains. In the dialogue, the ghost says, "these chains were m...

My Confession

November 2, 2009
Here's my God-honest truth: I'm a sinner with dirty hands... Now, that being said, there a few different people who are reading this. There's the one with judging eyes and pointing fingers, there's one who's wanting to pitty me, and there's one who feels exactly the same as I do...

I'm a selfish idolizing person, who wants to be cleansed..... The difference between me and the rest of the people who point and laugh at my flaws is this: I can admit to my problems, while their pride doen't allow ...

Don't be your own murderer

August 30, 2009
There's always something on my heart to tell myself and other people so that they can become closer to God, our Savior... But this is one that I kind of skipped over for some reason, and I hate that I did, because it needs to be acknowledged the most. "One day, I'll stand before an all powerful God... Where pride won't matter, how many stats I put up playing football won't matter, the nice things I do for my girlfriend won't matter... He will judge me. My entire life will come unwrapped and b...

Authenticity

August 16, 2009
I was reading a friend's facebook note and saw a few things within it that grabbed my attention... The note was about fearing to share what God has done for this person around certain people because of how they'd react to it. At first, I just read it and said "wow, that's deep" and then I saw some of the people's comments simply saying "OMG me too". This pushed me to let you guys know that everywhere you go, you represent "The Church" in other words, the christian generation is "The Church" h...

Only love can conquor hate

August 8, 2009
So, it's pretty late while I'm typing this, but it's on my mind now, after facing what I just faced..
After a 2 hour conversation of being degraded by my own father for no apparent reason, I recognized that regardless what I did, there was always going to be someone who doesn't agree with the things you do, and that person will usually step in and question the things you do and your faith mainly..
So into the hour of this chewing out and finger-pointing he wa...
