Sitting here out by the lake, I can’t help but think “Wow. God is awesome.” The beauty of this place that our Dad created for us absolutely boggles my mind! Within the past 10 minutes a doe has walked across the path just 10 feet from where I’m sitting, a crane glided right over the top of the water in front of me, and a little water turtle climbed out of the water and onto a log just below the dock. Nature to me is so beautiful. Now imagine that the God of the universe created all this for us! God is an amazing artisan and earth is His sculpting block. That’s how big God is! Isaiah 40:12 says:
“12 Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, or with the breadth of his hand marked off the heavens? Who has held the dust of the earth in a basket, or weighed the mountains on the scales and the hills in a balance?”
He measures the sky and oceans with his hand! His HAND! We can’t even see the entire ocean at one time! Now how small does that make you feel, huh? And how loved does that make you feel that someone that big and that mighty loves YOU and wants YOU?! I know that I can say it overwhelms me.
